The 13th annual Medieval Arts Festival will be this coming Saturday October 24, from noon till 5 p.m. at Meadowbrook Park Center. Costumed members of the Society for Creative Anachronism will demonstrate ancient weaponry, conduct story times, exhibit arts and crafts, and make history come to life. You can be entered to win a door prize from Medieval Times, Scarborough Renaissance Festival, or Theatre Arlington. And this year we will have a couple of food trucks.

It makes me wish I was a kid again so I could enjoy the great crafts the library is providing. The artist in the child can come out to play as they color and design their own shield, sword, castle, and get a free crown to wear. I’ve even pulled out my Great Castle Mystery 3-D model to play with. It will be going to the event so kids can enjoy it. And as a bonus, be entertained by listening to medieval themed stories.

Attendees from past Medieval Arts Festivals have commented:

“Everyone was excellent. My kids and I learned many new things. We also bonded during story time. It was great!”

“My family and I loved the presenters. I found out a lot of interesting information. I liked the dress of the presenters, and all of the items to look at. It felt like you were back in that time period.”

You can find event updates on Facebook. Come make your own medieval family memories!
