Activities will be throughout the first floor of the Central Library.

Celebrate African-American history and culture, featuring performances by the TCC Jazz Band, the Cornerstone Baptist Church Choir, the Ferguson Junior High Step TeamAshworth Elementary School Choir, Bebensee Elementary School Choir, and the Texas Country Blues of Rev. KM Williams. Speakers will include faculty from the University of Texas Arlington plus a genealogy workshop. Join former Arlington Mayor Elzie Odom, author of Counting My Blessings, for a book signing, and the winners of the art and essay contest for the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. "Sharing the Dream Celebration 2012". Children can create African-themed crafts throughout the afternoon. The library will have an African-American history display for the entire month. For all ages.
