May - Gardening and Water Conservation at the Southwest Branch

(provided by Melissa Jeffrey, Librarian I)

gardenThe City of Arlington has made water conservation a top priority. The conservation program is part of a regional effort to help plan for future water supply needs and meet the requirements of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and Texas Water Development Board. One of the ways we are helping at the library is with two demonstration gardens at the Southwest Branch. The interactive maps are available on the city's website.

*tip: if the map looks black when you click on it, zoom out using the
[-] to see the map* Printed maps with the list of plants are also available at the Southwest Branch as you come into the building.

We have many other great resources available at the library that you can pick up while you are looking at the garden as well as many classes scheduled throughout the year on gardens and water conservation. Please check our upcoming events for more information.
