Registration for GED classes will begin late August / early September. Classes begin Wednesday, September 15th. Space is limited. We will add more information as it becomes available.

The GED is a test that measures the General Education Development of individuals who have not graduated from high school, or for another reason have not obtained a high school diploma. The GED certificate is awarded to those who pass the GED test. It is widely accepted as the equivalent of a high school diploma.
Your GED will enable you to enter college or trade school, get a better job, or qualify for employment promotions. The GED will help you prove that your knowledge and skills will reach a higher standard.
You can take the GED test in Texas if you are:

A resident of Texas or a member of the Armed Forces stationed in Texas

At least 18 years old or older and have officially withdrawn from school

OR at least 17 years old, officially withdrawn from school, and have the consent of your parent or guardian.

All Arlington Public Libraries have GED study guides. Call or visit one of the following libraries to reserve a copy.

At the Library:
- Go to: www.learnatest.com/library
- Enter any digit besides zero and your library card number. This 13-digit number will be your username. Then enter a password of your choice.
- Proceed with your exam.
Away from the Library:
- Go to: www.learnatest.com/librarycard
- Enter any digit besides zero and your library card number. This 13-digit number will be your username.
- Click on continue. Then enter a password of your choice.
- Proceed with your exam.

- Register to answer sample GED questions.
- Check your answers as you go.
WHERE CAN I TAKE THE GED TEST?
GED Tests are given by the Arlington Independent School District at the Venture Alternative High School. Call the GED testing center for dates, times, and fees.
