Why: To offer free, family fun and educational activities designed to increase understanding of the urban environment and promote healthier choices.
About the Learn and Grow Fair
This event is presented by the Arlington Water Utilities Department and Arlington Public Library. Currently in its third year, this free community event offers classes, interactive booths, and fun activities for everyone.
The class schedule includes landscape design, recommended plants for our area, and organic vegetable gardening. Other activities will include interactive booths about water conservation, watershed protection, animals, gardening and composting. Arlington residents are encouraged to register today to secure a spot in the free landscape classes. Space is limited.
Youth Activities (9 a.m. - noon)
Water conservation, library craft, composting, eco-adventure challenge, wildlife, watershed protection, animal services, popcorn, giveaways, and more!
Classes for Adults
9:15 - 10:15 - Landscape Design and Recommended Plants presented by Master Gardener Dave Wilson
10:30 - noon - Organic Vegetable Gardening presented by Steve Chaney of the Texas AgriLife Extension
