A Public-Private Partnership

The City of Arlington is committed to enhancing the economic, social and cultural vitality of this diverse community and has joined the Friends and Foundation of the Arlington Public Library to form a public-private partnership to build Arlington’s library of the 21st century. The $30,000,000 project will bring a state-of-the-art library experience to Arlington through a new, modern building design, improved technology and expanded public programming.

The City of Arlington has approved $22,000,000 for construction, leaving $8,000,000 to be raised by the Arlington Public Library Foundation through the DREAM: CENTRAL – Building the Library of Tomorrow capital campaign. The campaign will address crucial structural concerns through a completely new Downtown Library facility. It will also bring invaluable programs and resources to the residents of Arlington by providing more than just the “basics” of library services.
