Tell Me More works ONLY with Windows-based
PCs. It will not work with other operating systems.
Tell Me More works ONLY with Internet Explorer
5.0 and higher. It will not work with Firefox or other browsers.
If you have an old shortcut to
www.arlingtonlibrary.org, you may need to change it to
arlingtonlibrary.org.
On your first visit to Tell Me More, you
will need to set up a user account. This asks for some basic
information and for you to create a user name and password.
Tell Me More opens multiple windows.
You will need to turn your popup blocker off when attempting to run the
language modules. For most popup blockers, you can hold down the
"Ctrl" key when clicking on the "Click here to begin working" link.
Continue holding down the Ctrl key until all screens have loaded.
When
running Tell Me More for the first time, the website will check the
configuration of your computer with its Computer Test. If your
computer meets the Tell Me More requirements, it will install a program on
your computer. You will need to watch for the yellow warnings bar at
the top of the browser window for installation permissions. This program and a microphone are necessary to run the
pronunciation exercises.
If your computer does not meet the system
requirements, the program will offer to run the language program without
that portion of the exercises. No program installation is required in
that case.
