Arlington Reads Literacy Tutor

We are looking for students, professionals and residents in the Arlington area to lead tutoring sessions, conversation circles, homework help for 1st-3rd grade and support adults enrolled in our literacy programs.

Tutors for Adult Literacy Programs

*Flexible Scheduling: the volunteer and student(s) decide on the day, time and location of tutoring sessions.

Tutors for Youth Literacy Programs

Volunteering with youth literacy programs requires a minimum of 1.5 hours per week for one academic semester.
All programs have set schedules.

Tutors for Early Childhood Literacy Programs

Volunteering with family literacy programs requires a minimum of 1.5 hours per week for 6 weeks. All programs have set schedules.

  • Passion for lifelong learning and commitment to helping a person grow
  • Resilient dedication, great patience, and the ability to have FUN!
  • Previous tutoring experience is not necessary
