Arlington Public Library is committed to sustainability, and our new Sustainability Shop was developed with that thought in mind. The Sun Club Sustainability Shop, an eco-friendly shop in the new Downtown Library’s lobby, will be loaded with eco-friendly gifts and products useful at the library. Through the Sun Club Sustainability Shop, we hope to be an example of reducing environmental impact in meaningful ways.
The Sun Club Sustainability Shop was made possible by a grant from Green Mountain Energy Sun Club. Environmental sustainability is criteria used to evaluate products available in the shop. There will be something for everyone, whether you need supplies to help with research or are shopping for library lovers.
Eco-friendly office supplies will include notepads, pens, pencils, and bookmarks that you can plant. Gifts include new short-sleeved black and white “Dreams Begin Here” T-Shirt in both adult and youth sizes, and BPA free reusable water bottles, baseball style caps made from recycled material, “Dreams Begin Here” glasses and reusable tote bags, and much more. The shop will also offer the Arlington Public Library’s most recycled material: gently used books.
Proceeds from the Sustainability Shop help the Arlington Public Library to continue to offer free programs and events to citizens of Arlington. Visit the shop in person beginning June 16 when the Downtown Library opens to the public.
