Basic technology skills are becoming vitally important for everyone in our community. Many people are working or learning from home for the first time. Everyone is now performing daily tasks virtually instead of in person. We have curated a list of basic technology resources that are free and available from home with a computer or tablet.  

LearningExpress Library  

This database is available for free with a library card and offers a Computer Skills Center with tutorials on Getting Started with Your Computer and the Internet. LearningExpress Library also offers job search and workplace skills improvement, skill-building in reading, writing, math, and basic science, career certification and licensure exam prep, college and grad school entrance test prep, GED® test prep, and more.

DigitalLearn is a free to access website that offers multiple courses on Computer and Internet Basics, Online Safety, Connect to Others, and more.  

GCFLearnFree also offers multiple, free to access tutorials on Technology Basics. The website (presented by the Goodwill Community Foundation) also has guides for other topics including Work Skills and Core Skills. A master list of all offered topics can be found by clicking here.  

TechBoomers is a free to access website that aims to provide technology information and instruction for senior citizens. TechBoomers has technology-based articles and text and video tutorials on topics like Technology Basics, Online Shopping, Social Websites and Apps, and more.
