This November, join the Arlington Public Library for a NaNoWriMo Young Writers program in which tweens (9-12) will work on their writing skills, set writing goals, and provide support for their peers in an encouraging environment. Meetings will begin on October 26 and occur every Wednesday until December 7 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Southeast Branch Library.*

National Novel Writing Month began in 1999 as a challenge for authors to write 50,000 words over the span of thirty days. In the NaNoWriMo Young Writers program at APL, tweens will set their own word count based on their comfort level and receive encouragement as they work toward their individual goals. They will even receive a free journal and pen at the first meeting!

Registration is required for this program. You can register here. Because this is a six-week program, it is recommended that tweens be present for every meeting.

*There will not be a meeting Wednesday, November 23.
