Modern libraries have become essential for many communities. While we have a vast collection of books, we offer many support services to help Arlington residents achieve their goals. Our mission is to open doors to a world of ideas, information, and imagination, thereby enhancing the economic, social, and cultural vitality of our diverse community. We hope you’ll visit our new library and take advantage of our many resources and amenities this new facility has to offer.

Technology

Enjoy free Wi-Fi and a laptop bar in the lobby or charge your device in one of our charging stations. Library visitors will have access to public computing, including a laptop dispenser that will allow residents to check out the technology. Visitors also have access to public computing, printing, faxing, scanning, and mobile printing capabilities for a low-cost.

Children will be able to explore technology with our Discovery Stations and access homework resources as well as educational games on our children’s computers.

In the coming months, visitors will also have access to our ‘Innovations Zone,’ an outdoor community working space. This will be in the courtyard next to the library and is intended to be a tech-centered area with workspace pods. This area will also allow us to expand internet availability to the surrounding community.

Children’s Programming

We offer dynamic programming for every age. Children can discover and grow in the library with interactive experiences, learning, and play. Storytimes include our Bilingual program ‘Cuentos en Español,’ which engages children with short stories, action rhymes, and songs. Programs for children include exploring STEM concepts and so much more! AISD students have access to library resources (books, DVDs, computers) by using their AISD student (“lunch”) numbers at any time.

Adult Education

Our adult education program is an accredited program that addresses adult literacy needs in the community. All our services are at no cost to the student. We offer High School Equivalency, English as a Second Language (ESL), and Citizenship classes as well as workforce training opportunities. Classes available by registration. Morning and evening classes are offered for your convenience.
