The Arlington Public Library is expanding its ways to support patrons with disabilities with the addition of a video desktop magnifier provided by the Arlington Alumnae Chapter of Delta Gamma. Members of the Arlington Alumnae Chapter Delta Gamma and the Arlington Public Library will debut the cart on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lake Arlington Branch Library. The magnifier will be housed and available for use at the Lake Arlington Branch.

Service to the community is centered in the Fraternity's philanthropic work, "Service for Sight."  Over the years, the chapter has aided visually impaired students and donated money for the visually impaired department of the Arlington City Libraries.

The video desktop magnifier is the TOPAZ EZ HD by Freedom Scientific, an economical high-definition (HD) magnifier that emphasizes ease of use with single-function controls. The HD camera provides superior image quality, a wider field of view, and a lower magnification range. This is the first video desktop magnifier in the Arlington Public Library System.

The Arlington Public Library has many resources for patrons with disabilities, which can be found on the Arlington Public Library website under Accessibility Services.

The video desktop magnifier is open to all patrons at the Lake Arlington Branch during regular business hours. The debut reception for the new video desktop magnifier is Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lake Arlington Branch, 4000 W. Green Oaks Blvd., Arlington, TX 76016.
