Along with Project S.A.V.E., the Arlington Public Library is presenting an awareness and education workshop to take action against sexual and domestic violence. Join us on Saturday, September 21 for Building Safer Communities, a free seminar at the Downtown Library. This workshop is open to the public and no registration is required.

Representatives from multiple organizations will present a small overview (10-15 minutes) of their programs/organizations and specialized topics in panel form. Attendees will have the option to choose from several 30 minute workshops.

Topics to be discussed include:

  • Legal Aid, hosted by the David Reyna Law Firm
  • Introduction to Trauma: an Overview on the Brain's Response to Trauma, with The Women’s Center of Tarrant County
  • The Role of Friends and Family, with Brighter Tomorrows
  • Coping Skills & Strategies, with The Family Place
  • Creating Safer Campus & Work Environments

The program will end with a brief talk of practical implementation of all the skills discussed, an overview of resources available in the area, and a short question and answer session with panelists.

Building Safer Communities takes place from 2 to 5 p.m. on September 21, 2019 at the Downtown Library. Registration is not required. Click here for more information.
