On September 17, 2020, Arlington business and residents will have the opportunity to give back by participating in the annual North Texas Giving Day. North Texas Giving Day was founded in 2008 by the Communities Foundation of Texas. In 2019, $50 million was raised through 102,000 donors benefiting 3,000 local nonprofits, bringing the eleven-year total to over $290 million for our community. North Texas Giving Day is the largest community-wide giving event in the nation. 

This year, you can support several City departments by donating to their non-profit support groups on North Texas Giving Day. The Friends and Foundation of the Arlington Public Library which supports the library through fundraising, events, and advocacy all year long. Click here to learn more about the FFAPL.

The River Legacy Foundation was created by the City of Arlington and citizens in 1988 to make the River Legacy Parks a reality. In conjunction with the Arlington Parks and Recreation Department, the members monitor and maintain the preservation and expansion of the River Legacy Parks. The foundation has both an Annual Partnership level or event by event corporate sponsorship levels.

Both the Arlington Police Department and the Fire Department have support organizations dedicated to Arlington’s first responders and their families. They both also organize events that connect Arlington residents with the responders in the community and events and demonstrations.
