The Arlington Public Library’s Makerspace is back in full swing! The Makerspace will be having festive classes for the upcoming holiday season. Are you interested in learning how to create winter decorations using the Cricut machine or learning how you can 3D print ornaments? We hope you’ll join in on the Makerspace fun! Happy Holidays!

Additional Makerspace Services  

Discover and learn to use technology in our Makerspace located on the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library's second floor. From sewing and other traditional crafts to cutting-edge 3D printing, the Makerspace offers something for both experienced and aspiring makers. Training is available and provided by Library staff. Use of the Makerspace is free to library cardholders. Bring designs to life with STEM-focused technology in the Tinker Room. This space features 3D printers, a milling machine, a vinyl cutter, a plotter printer, and a variety of small devices and tools. Create wearable, usable pieces of art in the Innovate Room, featuring sewing, quilting, and embroidery machines that offer a range of options for working with fabric. Makerspace Kits  

The Makerspace has been offering free kits with all sorts of crafts for patrons to enjoy from home. This service will be available at the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday while supplies last. These ready to go activities allow patrons to participate in arts and crafts projects at home. In each kit, you will find the instructions and materials to get started. One kit will be available per household. To sign up for a kit visit our calendar.

Holiday Virtual Programming

The Arlington Public Library has been offering some awesome virtual programming for all ages including instructional videos for fun crafts, classes led by talented artists, and children’s storytimes led by our awesome librarians and program specialists.
