November 13th is World Kindness Day, and to celebrate, the library is hosting a special storytime as well as a toy and book drive. Visit the Downtown library on November 13 at 6 p.m. for a special kindness themed storytime. Joining us will be Orion Jean, Time Magazine's "Kid of the Year" and author of the book Race to Kindness. This is a story about a boy who spreads kindness to everyone he knows. Afterwards, we will paint kindness rocks for the community and make friendship bracelets and blankets.

This event is free and open to the public, no registration is required. It is perfect for all ages; however younger children may require some assistances from caregivers to complete the crafts.
We will also be accepting new books and toys for children in need. Toys and books can be dropped off at the Downtown library from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Toys and books must be new, used items will not be accepted. All donations will be given to SafeHaven to help children in their shelters.
