Visit the library during the most wonderful time of the year for some great winter fun for all ages. 

Letters to Santa’s Drop-off 
Nov. 18 – December 9, 2024, Downtown Arlington Public Library 

Downtown Arlington, in collaboration with the Arlington Public Library and the United States Postal Service, invites you and your family to a magical event where you can write a letter to Santa and place it in the mail!

Thursday, December 5, 2024, 4 -7 p.m., Levitt Pavilion Hospitality Center

Letters to Santa will take place during Downtown Arlington's December First Thursdays event. After writing to Santa, enjoy live music on the Levitt stage from UTA Jazz, visit a Holiday Market hosted by Levitt and venture out into the walkable Downtown Arlington area to support local businesses and enjoy free artistic experiences for the whole family. First Thursdays: Cricut Holiday Cards and Ornaments

Get into the holiday spirit with First Thursdays at the Downtown Library! Join us for a creative session where you’ll learn about the Cricut process and make beautiful, personalized cards and ornaments. 

Cricut for Beginners: Gift Tags

Tuesday, December 10, 2024, 6 – 8 p.m., George W. Hawkes Downtown Library

Learn to design and cut with Cricut Design Space in this introductory class and create gift tags for the gift giving season.

This class is limited to the first 8 in attendance and is appropriate for ages 13+. 

DIY Holiday Ornaments Ages 9+

Saturday, December 14, 2024, 2 – 4 p.m., George W. Hawkes Downtown Library

In this come and go class you will create paper ornaments perfect for the holiday season.

This class is appropriate for ages 9+. While supplies last. We ask that adults with children 9-12 attend the class.

Winter Pajama Storytime

Monday, December 16, 2024, 6:30 - 7:30 p.m., Southwest Branch 

Brr! It’s getting chilly! Wear your comfiest pajamas into the library for a cozy winter story with Mrs. Dawn! Enjoy stories, rhymes, songs and a craft before heading to bed! 

The storytime is ideal for children ages 3-8. No registration is required, but will be open on a first come, first served basis and space is limited. 

Laser Cutter for Beginners: Wood Ornaments

Thursday, December 19, 2024,6 – 8 p.m., George W. Hawkes Downtown Library

Learn about the many things you do with the Glowforge Laser Cutter in this introductory class.

The laser cutter cuts, engraves, and scores a variety of materials including wood, acrylic, and leather to create a myriad of projects. Materials will be provided. 

This class is limited to the first 8 in attendance and is appropriate for ages 13+ to adult. 

3D Printing for Beginners: Cookie Cutters Ages 9+

Tuesday, December 17, 2024, 6 – 8 p.m., George W. Hawkes Downtown Library

Learn the basics of the TinkerCAD software and then watch your design take shape before your eyes in the 3D printer. 

This class is limited to the first 8 in attendance and is appropriate for ages 13+. We ask that adults with children 9-12 attend the class.
