Youth Programs

Have fun in our Little Explorers come-and-go programs that focus on art, math, science, engineering, and fine motor skills! These programs are intended for ages 0-4 and happen:

Mondays from 11 a.m. - Noon at the Southwest Branch

Fridays from 10 - 11:30 a.m. at the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library

Enjoy our Preschool Playdays geared towards caregivers and children 0 - 5 (physically and developmentally) every Tuesday at the Southeast Branch!

Join us for Play Days at the Ron Wright Lake Arlington Branch! Parents and children 0-3 are invited to come and play together, make new friends, and learn new skills.

Look through all the different programs and events that are perfect for little ones ages 0 - 4 at the Arlington Public Library! From storytimes to fun family-friendly events, we have something for everyone.

Join the Arlington Public Library in our many STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) programs!

When looking through all our programs we have available, we do ask that you double check the audience recommendations to make sure what is being taught will be understood by all those who attend. 

Calling all homeschoolers! Homeschool Mondays and Thursdays are an opportunity to make new friends and learn something new. We focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) activities, with something different every program! Join us biweekly on Mondays at the Southwest Branch or every Wednesday or biweekly Thursdays at the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library.

From LEGO Free Play to H.O.P.E. Tutoring, the Arlington Public Library has a large variety of programs and family-friendly events geared for children ages 5 - 8.

Learn how to play Dungeons & Dragons with us at the Southwest Branch!

Our Dungeons & Dragons Free Play Sessions are designed to give you and your friends a space to learn the game, play, and practice your skills as a Dungeon Master!

Our Dungeons & Dragons Basics Sessions are designed to give you and your friends tips and tricks about creating characters, how to play, and DMing a campaign!

Join our Tween Book Tasting Club if you're looking for your next read or are interested in checking out different genres at the Southeast Branch every other Thursday! For ages 9-12.

Teens in grades 7-12 are invited to join the Arlington Public Library for its teen creative writing program, Night Owls! We will use prompts and writing techniques to stretch our imaginations and help each other grow into better writers.
