Calling all young creators! The Arlington Public Library would like to sponsor your work to be submitted for the Texas Youth Creators Award. This award celebrates creativity and innovation in media production created by school-aged Texas residents while also highlighting the importance of media literacy and lifelong learning.
Students must be in grades Pre-K through 12th grade to enter.
Do you love creating new characters and developing new worlds? Taking original ideas and transforming them into stories?
Teens in grades 7-12 are invited to join the Arlington Public Library for its teen creative writing program, Night Owls! We will use prompts and writing techniques to stretch our imaginations and help each other grow into better writers.
Want to have a say in what kind of programs and services teens will have at the library? Join Library Youth Ambassadors! Hone your leadership and teamwork skills while making new friends and shaping teen programs.
We meet the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month from 5:30PM to 6:30PM (unless otherwise stated). Members must be approved Library volunteers and fill out the membership application.
Teens, join us at the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library or the Ron Wright Lake Arlington Branch for a chance to give back to the community! We use this time to help complete fun projects for the library and to help out our patrons. Past projects have included making cards and craft items for our Books on Wheels seniors, crafting bookmarks for scavenger hunt prizes, or helping library staff to prepare for their programs. All supplies will be provided.
