The Youth Services Team is excited to invite you and your family to our first Spooktober Family Carnival at the Southeast Library from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, October 25th, 2024.

 

We will have crafts, games, candy, storytimes, and costume contests for early learning through high school. Activities will take place in the parking lot on the east side of the building and inside in the community room. In the event of foul weather, all activities, excluding the fire truck, will be moved indoors.

 

We hope to see you there! 

 

ยท         Schedule of Events: 

o    Carnival Opens at 5:30 p.m. 

o    Touch a Fire Truck Starts at 5:30 p.m. 

o    Early Learning Costume Contest at 5:45 p.m. 

o    School Age Costume Contest 6:00 p.m. 

o    Musical Storytime at 6:00 p.m.  

o    Tween Costume Contest at 6:15 p.m. 

o    Teen Costume Contest at 6:30 p.m. 

o    Musical Storytime at 6:30 p.m. 

o    Touch a Truck Ends at 6:30 p.m. 

o    Door Prize Giveaway at 7:00 p.m. 

o    Carnival Closes at 7:30 p.m.  

 

  Costume Guidelines: 

  • No weapons of any kind may be part of the costume. This includes foam swords and plastic throwing stars.
  • At no point during the event will APL assume responsibility for costume components. Costume props and accessories are the responsibility of the wearer and their adult.
  • Costume components may not impede the flow of event traffic or another patron's experience at the event. (e.g., large wings, trailing capes)
  • Any patron wearing a costume that displays hateful or discriminatory language will not be eligible for a prize.
