Winners of the Spring 2025 Youth Poetry Contest

The Arlington Public Library is pleased to share the winning poems from our third annual Youth Poetry Competition. Click the name to read each entry.

  • Tied for 1^st Place “The Land Across the Sea” by Andrew B.

• Elementary School 
  • 1^st Place “Thank You, Mama” by Sara M.
  • 2^nd Place “Space” by Raddison K.

This year we received over twenty-five submissions, each with their own merits. Submitted poems were judged on poetic form, usage of poetic elements, and adherence to grade appropriate writing conventions. The 1^st and 2^nd place poems submitted by these young writers displayed a mix of masterful use of poetic elements and impactful content.
