Downtown Library Teen & Young Adult Center

The Teen & Young Adult Center in the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library has access to state of the art equipment for teens and young adults to come and discover a variety of interests, whether through our varied and extensive programs and events or on their own. Located on the second floor, they have access to the Makerspace. In the Tinker Room, those who like to create with STEM-focused technology or they can create wearable creations in the Innovate Room. TheĀ  Create Room allows for those with a love of the digital arts to come and create stunning visual creations. We also have an X Box One and Sega Genesis for those who are into gaming. Desktop computers are available at all times or teens can check out laptops during Teen Desk hours.


Northeast Student Lab

Student Lab is designed as a quiet space to study and access computers for teens ages 13-17. After a busy school day, teens can come read, relax, or use computers at the Northeast Branch Library. We have school supplies available and library staff are ready to assist with computers. Student Lab is opened Tuesdays-Thursdays from 3:30-5:30 p.m when Arlington Independent School District has school. Each student and guardian are required to sign the Student Lab expectations form to participate (form available at Student Lab). Limit of 20 students each day.
