From September 15th-October 15th, people across the United States celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. It is a time for honoring the influence and contributions of Hispanic Americans in history, culture, and achievements.
To celebrate and learn about Hispanic Heritage, the library is hosting an Art and Cultural Festival on October 12th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library.
To make this a real community affair, we are seeking your art! Arlington Public Library is putting out a call for Hispanic art and artists to display some of their work during the event. The submission deadline is Sunday, October 6th at midnight.
The work will be displayed during the Arts and Cultural Festival which is an all-ages event. Submissions must follow all library display guidelines found on our website.
Things to consider when submitting:
Artwork will be displayed on easels
The submitting artist must do artwork
1 - 3 Submissions per Artist (please create separate submissions for each piece)
Artists must be 18+ years old
This is currently a no-sale exhibit
Submissions must follow all library Display Guidelines found on our website
We encourage artists to review our Photography Policy found on our website
The library is an all-ages space. Artwork must be appropriate for general audiences.
Submission Guidelines:
Submit your work through our online form by October 6th. Day of details will be provided to submitters via email. Please feel free to reach out to laura.hoffman@arlingtontx.gov with any questions.
The online form will ask for the following information:
Artist's name
Contact email
Title
Dimensions of physical the work
Estimated weight of artwork
Media
Exhibit Statement (optional, 100-word limit, the library will print)
1-3 images of work
