Library Food Drive

The Arlington Public Library is hosting a food drive throughout the holiday season to support our neighbors in need. Starting now through December 31, 2025, the community is encouraged to donate shelf stable food items to any Arlington Public Library location across the city. 

Items needed include 

  • Canned fruits and vegetables 

  • Canned meats 

  • Canned soups 

  • Peanut or other nut butters 

  • Mac and Cheese 

  • Rice 

  • Beans/lentils 

  • Powdered milk 

  • Shelf stable milks/juices 

  • Thanksgiving items: canned fruits and vegetables, pie mix, pie crusts (pre-baked), stuffing, etc. 

Items not accepted 

  • Perishable foods (needs refrigeration) 

  • Dairy items 

  • Eggs 

  • Opened items 

  • Expired items 

All collected items will be donated to Mission Arlington just in time for the holidays!

TO RECEIVE SERVICES: visit their website to complete their application and schedule an appointment. Walk-ins are also accepted.  

HOURS: Monday – Thursday 9;00am-1:00pm, Friday 9:00am - 1:00pm

Arlington Charities has a holiday food program providing a box of food to families. Watch the website for Christmas applications.  

A donation of $35 covers the cost of a holiday meal kit.

Mission Arlington supplies individuals and families with short-term supplies of groceries designed to last for several days, based on family size. They mix several kinds of dry goods and refrigerated food, keeping it as nutritious as possible based upon the supply. Once the families’ food needs are met, then they can work together on solving other problems facing them.
