Service Learning Experience

As a place that bridges the gap from curiosity to opportunity, the library also offers service-learning experiences to students and individuals looking to gain hours by integrating their academic course learning with community service or volunteer work.

Service-learning is typically completed in a short time frame and goes through the following process:

  1. Research, observe, and identify a need
  2. Plan and propose a potential solution
  3. Implement solution
  4. Reflection

To determine if the Library is a good fit for your service-learning project we will need to know:

Name of class (project should be in alignment with the class/course type)
Name of Professor
Goals/objectives for project
Dates/ timeframe project should be completed
Number of hours needed
Number of students participating in project

Please note: The library does provide paid internships. Those can be found, when available, on the city of Arlington’s Career Opportunities page.
