Get Crafty with the Makerspace in June

Summer is the time for fun and exploration and what better way to accomplish that than learning something new! The Makerspace has so many machines to learn new crafts such as sewing, 3D printing, and more. Come check us out this summer and learn a new skill or hobby! Here is what we have going on through June 2025.

 

3D Printing CAD Design Ages 9+: Bubble Wands

Learn the basics of the TinkerCAD software and then watch your bubble wand take shape before your eyes in the 3D printer. This class is limited to the first 8 in attendance and is appropriate for ages 9+.

First Thursdays: Suncatcher Keychain

Welcome to First Thursdays at Downtown Arlington! Visit the library for a fun craft where you'll create a suncatcher keychain, crafted from acrylic and glass paint to resemble stained glass. All materials will be provided.

Sewing for Beginners: Bookmarks

In this hands-on class, you'll learn sewing machine basics and unleash your creativity making corner bookmarks. Materials will be provided. This class is limited to the first 8 in attendance and is appropriate for ages 13+.

Father’s Day Origami Ages 9+

In this come and go class you will make an origami shirt and tie that would be the perfect gift for the father figure in your life. This class is appropriate for ages 9+.

Canva Poster Design: Vision Board

Join us and learn how to design and customize on Canva. You'll be guided through the process to bring your dreams to life and create a personalized vision board that will be printed on the Plotter Printer. This class is limited to the first 8 in attendance and is appropriate for ages 13+.

Sewing for Beginners: Stadium Tote Bag

Learn sewing machine basics and take home a clear tote bag. Materials will be provided. This class is limited to the first 10 in attendance and is appropriate for ages 13+.

Juneteenth Mosaic

Join in the Juneteenth celebration by creating this fun and intricate craft! We will design traditional Juneteenth art using mosaic tiles. Materials will be provided. This class is appropriate for ages 13+. While supplies last.

Crochet for Beginners Ages 9+

Jump into the hobby of crochet! We will teach you about hooks, yarn, and basic stitches to get you started on your journey. This class is appropriate for ages 9+.

Hand Embroidery for Beginners: Summer

Jump into the hobby of hand embroidery! Learn the beauty of different embroidery stitches while working on this fun summer pattern. This class is appropriate for ages 13+ while supplies last.

Crochet Club

Share the joy of crochet with your fellow stitchers! You will be able work on your own projects and share it with the group as well as learn new and excited stitches from each other. You should attend Crochet for Beginners or know how to crochet before joining this class.

Paint with Me Ages 9+

Join this monthly art session where anyone of any skill level will create a fun work of art using acrylic paint and a blank canvas. Class is limited to the first 12 in attendance for ages 9+. Materials will be provided.

Crayon Art

Explore the world of crayon art in this interactive class! You will be guided though using heat to turn wax into a vibrant piece of art with beautiful designs. Class is limited to the first 8 in attendance for ages 13+. Materials will be provided. Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult.
